The Scottish Orienteering Association (SOA) is staging the British Orienteering Championships 2018 over the weekend Saturday 19th May to Sunday 20th May in Royal Deeside. The Long Distance Championships will be held over the Balmoral Estate with the British Relay Championships at nearby Torphantrick (Cambus o’May).

The Scottish Orienteering Championships will be held the following weekend of 26/27th May. Why not take a weeks holiday and have a double dose of classic Scottish terrain.

The Long Distance Championships are being staged at Achagour & Dulsie (partially used during Highland 2015 Scottish 6 Days), a short distance from Nairn and Forres.

The Scottish Relay Championships are being staged in Roseisle, a superb area of forested sand dunes.

Training opportunities exist, including use of areas used for the World Orienteering Championships 2015.

The British Orienteering Championships are being held the previous weekend of the 19/20th May, why not make a week of it.

Starting beside the fairy-tale-like Crathes Castle the route takes you out onto the country roads to the north and east of the estate grounds. You head out towards the estate of fellow NTS property, Drum Castle, eventually turning and heading back in a loop towards Crathes and finishing in front of the castle.

Three cycle routes, all finishing in Methlick - 20, 40 and 70 miles.
The 70 mile route starts in Ballater, 40 mile in Crathes and 20 mile in Dyce.
The challenge is for all types of cyclists, from novices to pros.
The challenge is to make it to the end, it is not a race.
